PDC World Matchplay continues on Sunday with the final round of action.
The Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England, is set to continue hosting the 2026 PDC World Matchplay final in in the world of professional darts on Sunday. 2026 marks the 33rd edition of the tournament to be put on by the Professional Darts Corporation since the inaugural event in 1994. The inaugural champion was Larry Butler, who remains the only American to win a PDC major title to date. Butler defeated Dennis Priestley 16-12 in the final. In last year’s competition, Luke Littler took an 18-13 finish over James Wade in the final to secure the World Matchplay title.

This year, Littler entered as the top seed of the tournament, facing the unseeded German qualifier Niko Springer in the first round. The reigning champion took a 10-6 win to advance to the second round.
Littler then took a 11-8 victory over the No. 16-seeded Nathan Aspinall to become one of the final eight players at the competition.
The reigning PDC World Matchplay winner got past the eight-seed Josh Rock 16-7 in the quarterfinals heading into the weekend.
