Two teams of alumni from Kansas college basketball programs clash on Monday night in The Basketball Tournament when JHX Hoops (Kansas) visit the AfterShocks (Wichita State) on Monday night at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita. AfterShocks, the defending tournament champions, reached the semifinals by beating The Enchantment (New Mexico) in a best-of-three in Round 1, while JHX Hoops survived a three-game battle with Purple Reign (Kansas State) to reach the single elimination phase of the event. The teams are among 14 that entered for a shot at the $2 million, winner-take-all prize.

JHX Hoops came from behind in the Elam Ending on Friday night, outscoring Purple Reign 13-2 after the target was set for a 62-55 victory to clinch their Round 1 series in Manhattan, Kansas. Zeke Mayo powered JHX Hoops with 25 points in the win while Jacob Hanna, one of the team’s allotted four non-alumni members, added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The AfterShocks needed a second half rally to get past The Enchantment, 73-67, on Friday night in Wichita, with 2025 tournament MVP Marcus Keene scoring 12 of his game-high 23 points in the third quarter, as the AfterShocks turned a 38-31 halftime deficit into a 55-51 lead entering the fourth period. QJ Peterson came off the bench for 16 points and Marcus Santos-Silva finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The winner advances to the Alumni Bracket championship on Wednesday against La Familia (Kentucky), which eliminated Boeheim’s Army (Syracuse) in their semifinal on Sunday.
