The best of the best gather at Johns Hopkins for the 20th anniversary of the boys’ New Balance All-America Senior Game on Saturday.
This game will feature the future of the sport, with top high school lacrosse athletes competing in the boys’ New Balance All-America Senior Game on Saturday night. This event is traditionally held at Johns Hopkins University on Johnny Unitas Field in Towson, MD, named after the Baltimore Colts legend. This game has prestige, as 11 of the last 15 Tewaaraton Award winners, college lacrosse’s highest individual honor, have played in it. There is also a girls tournament representing the best senior players in the country, which will begin the All-Star festivities on Saturday, starting at 5:30 p.m. ET. This boys’ All-America Senior Game will start at 8:30 p.m. ET, and both will air on ESPNU. This will be the 20th anniversary of the games that started in 2006. These All-Star players are selected in a wave process starting in April and going through June, picked by Inside Lacrosse and Corrigan Sports Enterprises. The series between the North and South in the boys’ All-Star game is much closer than the girls’ game in its 20-year history. Team North holds a slight 10-9 overall advantage for the boys, while Team North for the girls is dominating with a 13-6 record. Team North won for the boys last year in a 20-14 final over Team South. Attackman Teddy Lally took away the MVP award and eventually went on to play for Notre Dame. He went on to play in all 16 games, and he totaled 24 points with 15 goals and nine assists.
