The St. Louis bullpen let the game get away from them on Thursday, surrendering six runs over the final two innings of a 10-6 loss to the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. Brady Singer delivered a qualify start, allowing three runs on six hits over 6.2 innings while striking out six and JJ Bleday hit a solo homer in the fourth to tie the game.
Right-hander Dustin May (5-7) makes the start on Friday night for the Cardinals, entering play with a 4.78 ERA and 1.316 WHIP in 19 starts and 98 innings. Cincinnati gives the ball to right-hander Rhett Lowder (3-7), who comes in with a 5.75 ERA and 1.639 WHIP in 72 innings over 17 appearances, including 14 starts.
