Miami FC and Colorado Springs boast near identical records in their respective USL Championship conferences, as the Switchbacks prepare to host the first meeting between the two clubs in more than two years. Miami travels to Weidner Field positioned sixth in the Eastern Conference, but is at a disadvantage given its played more games than most of its peers so far this season. The Switchbacks, meanwhile, are fifth in the West despite being two points worse off, largely because they’ve played two games fewer than their East Coast counterpart to date, but are faced with a chance to move as high as third with a win here.

Miami FC has won two games in a row after sweeping Sarasota United aside in the USL Cup before bagging a 2-0 victory over the Indy Eleven in its return to league duties.
Fresh from his stint at the World Cup with Curacao, Jurgen Locadia was on the scoresheet in that latter win and doubled Miami’s lead after Rodrigo da Costa broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time.
Locadia has been a particularly welcome returnee after concluding his World Cup business and now has seven goals and three assists to his name in 15 games for Miami this term.
However, only five of those finishes have come in the USL Championship, while Khori Bennett has been more effective as Colorado Springs’ top scorer, with nine goals thus far in the campaign.
This will be just the fourth time these teams have faced off, with Miami chasing back-to-back wins after beating Colorado Springs for the first time when they last went to war in March 2024.
However, Miami boss Gaston Maddoni is still looking to lead the club to its first win over the Switchbacks on their own turf, having lost 2-0 in the only previous visit back in July 2023.
