The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series has just three races remaining in the regular season, starting here at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Justin Allgaier leads the field with six wins and 966 points. Those wins have allowed Allgaier to build a 240-point lead over the rest of the field heading into the Pennzoil 250. No other driver has more than two wins this season. The Pennzoil 250 is the 22nd race of the season. Allgaier is coming off his sixth win of the season and third in the last six races overall. After a hot start, winning three of the first six races of the season, Allgaier is back on his game again to close out the regular season.

Last season, Connor Zilisch won this race as a rookie. Sam Meyer, rookie Taylor Gray, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Sieg rounded out the top five. Allgaier did not finish the race. He only made it 20 laps before an accident ended his day in 36th place.
Since this race was added to the schedule in 2012, only one driver has won more than once. Kyle Busch has four total wins in this race, with the last coming in 2019.
There are just three races before The Chase begins. After this week’s Pennzoil 250, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series heads to Iowa Speedway and Daytona International Speedway to close out the regular season. The top 12 drivers in the points standings will advance to the playoffs.
